The Diploma is awarded by the UK Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality (www.cthawards.com) which provides recognized standards of management training for this growing industry. The CTH works closely with British Universities, Airlines and Hotel Management Schools.
The Diploma in Tourism Management aims to provide students with a broad understanding of the operational aspects of the international tourism industry, together with a knowledge of the basic principles which underpin the industry. The programme is three terms of 12 weeks over one academic year, with starting dates being to some extent flexible. Private study will also be required. Each of the modules has a two and a half hour examination, set and marked by CTH.
Successful completion of the Diploma leads to direct entry to the second year of a range of tourism and hospitality management degree programmes.
For entry to the Diploma programme students must have completed formal secondary education and have at least IELTS 5.0 level or equivalent. Students who cannot meet this requirement must first take an intensive English programme at OISC.
